OPEN LETTER TO THE MUNICIPALITY OF PIRACICABA

Mr. Mayor,

Honorable Parliamentarians,

Citizens of Piracicaba,

This letter represents not only the professional associations undersigned, but about two thousand professionals of graphic humor Brazilian members of the communication vehicles of the written press, TV and the Net, and the book publishers and advertising agencies.

The cartoonists are the soul of the Salon International de Humor de Piracicaba, where without their participation, with their work, there is no event. So we are also responsible for its continuity. and so we expect the public to see the city.

We are in an open letter, expressing our outrage, emphatically, by the way in which Mrs. Maria Ivete Araújo (Zetti) collaborator and director of the last 30 years the International Humor Exhibition of Piracicaba was relieved of his post amid Holiday year, through a letter delivered by Secretary temporary replacement.

There is no denying the power of Maria Ivete Ali that went through several administrations where she contributed in the construction of this long and successful history of the Hall, and so won respect both here and outside Brazil. More than that, was adopted by the graphic humorists as a symbol of the continuity of the same even now head up the dictatorship and survived the censure.

Instead of a tribute by the relevant work done on behalf of Piracicaba and dialogue that "Zetti" always advocated over the years between the city and cartoonists, was humiliated by an act especially political.

We call for not only the sensitivity of executive power, but of all parliamentarians, since the Hall is not limited to administrative acts, but to free thought and feeling of value to art. Thus it is seen by cartoonists.

Ask the common sense of Mr. Mayor Barjas Negri, who always showed compassion for the Hall and would not be in its management of cultural dialogue would be despised.
We believe that awareness knowing that there is no loss when the politician is shown above the color party when it governs all.

After all, we cartoonists, we specialize in transmitting through our cartoons and cartoons of people thinking about national issues.

We look forward to as soon as the response to our request for the return of Mrs Maria Ivete Ali for the post of Director of National Center for Documentation, Research and Dissemination of Piracicaba Humor (CEDHU), we know, is an act of appreciation for our representative in the event.
